Racing for Autism

Today I received an email from an advocate for Autism from my own home town encouraging me to look at a Website and let me tell you I have never been so deeply touched by a person’s effort.

It all started when Ray Halleran was given a 2010 Ford Mustang by a family member for Father’s Day and decided to follow his dreams of racing in Targa Newfoundland.

Ray is married to Julie and their oldest daughter was diagnosed with autism at the age of two which is the driving force behind Ray’s inspiration on the day he was asked to register his name to support Autism which is where “Racing for Autism was born”.

They firmly believe that “Racing for Autism should be about families that deal with Autism therefore a child with autism can have their name in a puzzle piece on the Race Car!!!!! I am putting Michael’s name on one for next year, too bad I didn’t know about this sooner so I could have put it on this year.

The race starts September 9th to the 18th, click the link to see the schedule. http://www.racing4autism.ca/Targa_2010_General_Schedule_.pdf

Seriously check out this website, it is very touching, inspirational and rewarding in so many ways.

Kudos to Ray and Julie!!!!!
